Design Your First Website
For people who have never designed a site. By the end you will have a page sketch, a few visual choices, and a test list.
This course is for a complete beginner with a real offer: a shop, a service, a church, a tour, a studio. You will look at published homepages, then make the same kind of choices for your own.
What you will have
- A one-sentence goal and a sketch of the first screen.
- A small color and type choice you can repeat.
- A phone check and a launch list.
- A certificate with your name, made in the browser, plus the PDF kit from the guide.
Day 1
- Decide the goal and who it is for
- Gather words, photos, and proof
- Sketch the pages and the homepage stack
- Lay the page out so the eye knows where to go
- Choose a few colors people can read
- Set type that is easy to read
Day 2
Day 2 opens after Day 1 is complete and you save an email. The optional box is for a short tip now and then. You can unsubscribe. The form only saves the address.

Who is this course for?
Someone designing a first website. You do not need to write code. You do need a real offer and a phone to test on.
How long is it?
Two short days. Each lesson is a few minutes of looking, one exercise, and a three-question check.
What will I have at the end?
A page sketch, a small set of color and type choices, a test list, and a certificate you can print. The certificate is made in your browser.
When does Day 2 open?
After the six Day 1 lessons are marked complete and you save an email. The tips box is optional. You can unsubscribe if you opt in. The form does not send mail by itself.
Is this search training?
No. One short lesson covers titles, headings, and a sitemap. The rest is design.
Can someone build it for me?
Yes. The last page links to the start page and the contact page.
